मुंबई के मनसुख काका की कहानी मेहनत और स्वाभिमान की ऐसी मिसाल है, जो किसी को भी सोचने पर मजबूर कर सकती है।
कभी वह एक साड़ी की दुकान में सेल्समैन हुआ करते थे। कोविड के दौरान बीमारी के कारण उनकी नौकरी चली गई। उनकी देखभाल के लिए बेटे को भी अपनी नौकरी छोड़नी पड़ी।
मुश्किल हालात के बावजूद मनसुख काका ने हार नहीं मानी और न ही किसी के सामने हाथ फैलाया। उन्होंने घर पर बने खाखरा, चकली और दूसरे स्नैक्स सड़क किनारे बेचने शुरू कर दिए। उनकी बहन घर पर ये सामान तैयार करती हैं और वह अपनी छोटी सी दुकान पर इन्हें बेचते हैं।
बताया जाता है कि करीब 12 घंटे काम करने के बाद भी उनकी रोज की कमाई लगभग ₹300 होती है। फिर भी वह पूरी ईमानदारी से अपना काम करते हैं।
अपने पास रखी एक छोटी सी डायरी में वह हर बिक्री और खर्च का हिसाब भी लिखते हैं। उनकी यही मेहनत, अनुशासन और आत्मसम्मान लोगों के दिल को छू रहा है।
मनसुख काका की कहानी बताती है कि उम्र शरीर की हो सकती है, हौसले की नहीं।
